Transformers Rescue Bots...Heroes in Disguise!

Optimus Prime has an amazing new team of rescue vehicles and their mission is to do way more than protect and serve. Known as the Rescue Bots, Blades, Boulder, Chase & Heatwave, are highly advanced alien robots that must remain undercover in order to protect and learn from mankind.

My kids were so excited to attend a preview event for the Hub Network introducing the Rescue Bots. The event was located at the historic Los Angeles Fire Department Hollywood Museum, also know as Old Fire Station 27. We were able to visit the museum and check out some classic Fire Trucks. I never knew this place existed. Jackson and Mya snuck into the locker room and suited up in real Fire Fighter gear!

The kids all gathered in a cozy screening room filled with bean bag chairs. They were so excited to watch the first episode. We had the opportunity to meet the actors that play the voices of these incredible characters. Jackson got a chance to talk to Imari Williams, the voice of Boulder, his favorite Rescue Bot.

It was an awesome event! We had a really good time and my kids learned a lot about the inner workings of a Fire House. A very special Thank You to all of the retired Fire Fighters for their informative tour. I'd also like to Thank the wonderful gals at HUB TV Network for having us. We are looking forward to the new series and all the great things to come from Hub TV!

With Star Wars: Episode I The Phantom Menace coming to theaters this Friday in 3D, I wanted to share my excitement over the new video game that XBOX is getting ready to release for Kinect. I can't tell you how anxious I am! Jackson is a HUGE Star Wars fan, especially of the Dark Side. His two most favorite characters are Darth Vader and Darth Maul. My kids have long loved Tonka trucks and when Hasbro gave them a face and a name, my kids loved them even more. A "Yo Ho Ho" Screening at Walt Disney Animation Studios

In case you hadn't heard...Peter Pan is returning to Neverland on an all new episode of Jake and the Neverland Pirates scheduled to air February 13th on Disney Junior. I had the chance to get a sneak peak of this highly anticipated episode at the Walt Disney Animation Studios. Little did I know that this was going to be a Star Studded Screening!

Jackson instantly spotted his favorite cast members from the Disney show "Jessie". He was so excited to meet Cameron Boyce (Luke), Karan Brar (Ravi) & Skai Jackson (Zuri). He also met Leigh-Allyn Baker (Amy Duncan) and Mia Talerico (Charlie Duncan) from "Good Luck Charlie"!

We hung out with Jake before going into the theater to watch the show. We love Jake!

The kids couldn't wait to get in and see the show! We were greeted with Pirate Booty to enjoy during the show!

The awesome Disney crew had all the kids dancing and playing games before the screening started.

After the screening we hung out around the studio and the kids took in all of the Disney Magic that was in the air.

Don't forget to tune in to Disney Junior on February 13th for the Return of Peter Pan on Jake and the Neverland Pirates!

Finding Nemo has long been one of my most favorite films. I love every movie that Disney/Pixar has ever made. When I found out that Finding Nemo was going to make it's way back into theaters, but this time in 3D, I did the happy dance! The Garfield Show: Dinosaurs and Other Animal Adventures

Everyone’s favorite cat is at it again! I have always been a Garfield fan and so has my oldest son. He's enjoyed watching Garfield since he was just a toddler. With this DVD I was able to introduce Garfield to my two younger children. We all sat down and laughed at the silly situations that this cat always seems to find himself in. Your kiddos will really like this DVD.

A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventure

A Turtle's Tale: Sammy's Adventure just released on DVD last week. It is a very sweet story about Sammy the little turtle and the many adventures his journey through the ocean takes him on. My kids really enjoyed the movie. They each had their favorite characters. I recommend it for all of your little ones.

Born on a Baja, California beach in 1959, new hatchling Sammy must do what his fellow newborn sea turtles are doing: race across the beach to the ocean before a seagull or crab captures them. Thus begins Sammy’s incredible fifty-year ocean journey. Throughout his travels, Sammy never forgets about Shelly – the turtle he saved on his first day and loves passionately from afar. Mad T Party is coming to Disney's CA Adventure!

I don't know much, but what I do know I just have to share right now! The nighttime dance party known as ElecTRONica has been an amazing feature in Disney's CA Adventure located in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot, but it's run is wrapping up. ElecTRONica is scheduled to run until Spring of 2012. If you haven't experienced it yet, make sure you get over there and check it out. My kids are ages 2, 4 & 6 and I can tell you that they love it. They dance, they laugh and they get a kick out of the laser lights. We have all enjoyed the street party that is ElecTRONica, but it is time for something new and I have no doubt that Disney will deliver!

The new concept and plan for the Hollywood Pictures Backlot is nothing short of extraordinary! Disney will introduce a new nighttime event known as the Mad T Party! Based on Tim Burton's version of the classic Alice in Wonderland, The Mad T Party will fill the streets with bright colors, live music and a glow extravaganza. It's expected to have two stages, a lounge and an interactive game area!

The Mad T Party is scheduled for Summer of 2012 and I cannot wait to get the party started with my family! Hope to see you there!

Murals Your Way Review

I had the pleasure of reviewing an amazing product this year. Murals Your Way is a company that creates beautiful full-color wall murals for your home, office and just about anywhere that has a wall! My husband and I were planning on moving our toddler son into our older son's room and were trying to figure out how they could comfortably share the space. Our older son has no problem having a roommate, I just wanted them to share a theme that they would both enjoy rather than split the room into two halves with two completely different themes.

Murals Your Way made the transition so easy. Parker loves Dinosaur Train and Jackson loves destinations such as forests, oceans and VEGAS! So, I let Jackson choose the mural and I think he picked the best one. There was no paint, no mess and the vinyl material won't damage the walls. Now all we need is to get them a bunk bed!

A New Disney Princess is Coming to Disney Junior!

TV Movie Premieres in 2012; Series Launches in 2013 with Ariel Winter, Sara Ramirez, Wayne Brady and Tim Gunn among Voice Cast

Disney will introduce a little girl princess to its celebrated legacy of princess fairytales in an animated television movie and series, "Sofia the First," premiering in fall 2012 and spring 2013 respectively, on Disney Channel and Disney Junior channels around the world. While Disney princess fairytales have been enchanting audiences for more than 70 years, this is the first time a series has centered around a princess as a little girl. The stories are designed to communicate positive messages and life lessons that are applicable to preschool-aged children. The series and movie are productions of Disney Television Animation.

"Sofia the First" stories are set in the storybook world of young Sofia who starts out life as a regular girl. But when her mom marries the king, she is whisked off to a glamorous, but sometimes confusing, castle world of royalty, pomp and new step-siblings, Amber and James. "Sofia the First" will include appearances by Fauna, Flora and Merryweather (fairies seen in Disney's classic "Sleeping Beauty") as the headmistresses of Royal Prep, the academy that Sofia, along with other princes and princesses, attends. Special event appearances will be made by classic characters including Cinderella and other Disney Princesses.

Providing the voice of Sofia is Ariel Winter (ABC's "Modern Family"). Also highlighting the voice cast is Sara Ramirez (ABC's "Grey's Anatomy") as Queen Miranda; Wayne Brady ("Whose Line Is It Anyway?) as Clover, a wise-talking Rabbit; and Tim Gunn (ABC's "The Revolution," "Project Runway") as Baileywick, the family's Royal Steward. The actors providing the voices of King Roland, Amber and James will be announced soon.

All I have to say is O-M-G!!!! Two things I can't live without are Disney/Pixar and XBOX! No, seriously...I can't. As if Disneyland Adventures for Kinect wasn't enough to get my heart palpitating and butterflies in my stomach, now I am just about to puke with excitement over this new Kinect game!

I can't share too much, but let me just tell you that one of my ultimate dream games is finally getting ready to release next March! I promise you it will be a fight to get game time in my home...because I WILL BE PLAYING NON STOP!

Deck the Halls at Knott's Merry Farm!

My family was invited to Knott's Berry Farm for a special event to preview this year's Holiday line-up of shows and festivities. Knott's Merry Farm has long been a holiday tradition for so many So Cal residents. This was my family's first time celebrating the holidays with Knott's Merry Farm and I couldn't have asked for a more cheerful and joyous day!

We attended a private Holiday reception at the Mystery Lodge where we were greeted by Santa & Mrs. Claus! My kids just about lost it! Then, as if Mr. & Mrs. Claus weren't enough of a wonderful surprise, we received cuddly hugs from Santa Snoopy!!! It was AWESOME! We all sat down and enjoyed some of Knott's Berry Farm's classic Boysenberry pie along with other yummy desserts. My kids had a blast decorating gingerbread cookies and sugar cookies shaped like Snoopy's head. We had plenty of hot chocolate to keep us warm while we took in all of the holiday decor and told Santa what we all wanted for Christmas!

Knott's is also hosting the Peanuts' Holiday Parade which includes themed floats featuring the entire Peanuts Gang as well as students from the Orange County Song and Dance Company. Check out my video of the Peanuts' Holiday Parade below:

We spent the remainder of our evening in Camp Snoopy! My kids and hubby were on Joe Cool's Gr8 Sk8 when all the holiday lights lit the night sky and sounds of classic holiday music filled the air. They all were cheering and so excited to check out the rest of Camp Snoopy. Snow flakes were dancing on the ground, trees were covered in spiralling lights, there was holiday cheer as far as the eyes could see. I found myself singing along to just about every song I heard. My kids got on every single ride and wore themselves out. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.

The world famous Bird Cage Theater located in Ghost Town is hosting heartwarming presentations of the holiday classic, "A Christmas Carol" and also "The Gift of the Magi". These shows are scheduled to run from Nov. 24, 2011 to Jan. 1, 2012. No holiday would be complete without the ice spectacular, "It's Christmas, Snoopy!". The show is performed in the Charles M. Schulz Theatre and includes that famous skating Beagle, Knott’s ensemble skaters, dazzling sets, colorful costumes and plenty of surprises. The ice show is included with regular Park admission. Nov. 24- 27, Dec. 2-4, 9-11, 16 – 20, 22 – 24, 26 & 27, 29 – 31 & Jan. 1, 2012.

Kinect: SpongeBob Surf and Skate Roadtrip REVIEW!

All I have to say is..."HOLY FISH PASTE GARY!!!". If you have a Kinect in your home you HAVE to get this game! If you don't have a Kinect...GET A KINECT THEN GET THIS GAME!!! I Love it! I mean, my kids love it! I had to literally pull them away from it and force them to go to sleep.

It's so easy to play. Select your character, Spongebob or Patrick, then you select your board. You can shred some waves as you surf through Seaweed Alley or catch some air skateboarding through Flotsam Bay. The different levels are so colorful and creative! Earn points by collecting coins and completing tricks, but be careful because for ever wrong move you make, your points will be deducted...THWACK!

The best part is that there are NO CONTROLLERS! My son felt as though he was actually in the game! He grabbed his snow board and stood on it to pretend he was really ripping and riding!!!

Christmas is right around the corner and this game should be under your tree! No pressure or anything! You can find Spongebob Surf and Skate Roadtrip here!

A MEGA Holiday Season with MEGA Bloks!

We woke up this morning and had a few friends over for a MEGA Bloks Pajama Party! The kids got to stay in their pj's until noon and we served up a fun MEGA Breakfast filled with MEGA Juice, Square Pancakes and Tater Bloks! We played with the new MEGA Bloks Jungle Friends and Garden Friends. The Jungle Friends tote includes blocks and stickers to help your little ones create their very own zebra, giraffe, tiger and parrot. The Garden Friends tote includes blocks and stickers to make sweet little garden critters, butterflies, flowers and more.

We also played with the biggest tub of blocks I have ever seen! It's the 96 piece MEGA Bloks FARM tub. This was my favorite because after the kids were done playing, the tub made clean up super easy! I sang the "clean-up" song and they all picked up the blocks and tossed them into the tub. The last kid was proud to be the one putting the lid on the tub to signify a job well done.

My kids have enjoyed MEGA Bloks for years now and it's great to see that MEGA Brands continues to surprise us with new and creative ways to keep building and having Family Fun! Give the gift of MEGA Bloks this Christmas!

Winter Wonderland at the Malibu Country Mart!

The Malibu Country Mart, California’s premier luxury retail center, will be decked out in its holiday finest to feature a variety of festive, family-friendly events during the first three weekends in December.

Each Saturday in December, prior to Christmas Eve, visitors can participate in complimentary, holiday-themed, family-friendly activities, just steps from the beautiful beaches of Malibu. Santa wouldn’t get very far without his trusted friends Dasher, Prancer and Vixen, who will be making a special cameo appearance at the Malibu Country Mart this year. This is the only location from Malibu to Hollywood to get up close and personal with REAL, LIVE REINDEER. Children of all ages will be able to interact with the antlered creatures by petting them, feeding them, and taking photos with Santa’s furry helpers.

Santa will also be there to grant good little girls and boys their holiday wishes, while carolers roam the property spreading holiday cheer. Children can also take part in other holiday merriment such as cookie decorating and stocking and dreidel decorating, while Mom and Dad go shopping for very special gifts and clothing at the unique retailers located throughout the Malibu Country Mart.

Disney's Prep & Landing arrives on DVD next Tuesday, November 22nd and I couldn't be more excited! I fell in love with Wayne and Lanny the moment I saw them. I have been dying for Disney to offer Prep & Landing on DVD and I can't believe that it is finally here! Disney has also included a bunch of equally hilarious and entertaining Bonus Clips to keep the festivities going.

The four-episode run begins with Buddy, Shiny, Tiny and Don building a beachside clubhouse, and the “Nature Trackers Club” is born. The “Nature Trackers Club” will be featured throughout season two of DINOSAUR TRAIN, and highlights activities such as respecting nature, observing creatures and plants, and collecting natural objects.

The Jim Henson Company is also encouraging DINOSAUR TRAIN fans to join the “Nature Trackers Club.” Launching in November 2011, kids and their parents can visit pbskids.org/dinosaurtrain to download “Nature Trackers” activities and receive a free DINOSAUR TRAIN surprise to celebrate their achievement.

Throughout the week of November 14-18, 2011 new storylines will follow Buddy, Shiny, Tiny and Don as they make their own discoveries in nature (check local listings).

· “Stargazing on the Night Train/Get Into Nature!” Premieres Monday, November 14

The Pteranodon family rides a special “Night Train” to another part of the Cretaceous Time Period, where they meet a Troodontid “cousin” of the Conductor’s, Sidney Sinovenator, who knows more about the stars than anyone. Sidney takes the family up to his favorite stargazing spot, “Starry Hill,” and teaches the kids why the stars seem to move across the night sky. Then, when the kids build their own version of a nest on the beach, they get the idea to turn their beach nest into a clubhouse. Shiny thinks that a clubhouse needs a club, and the “Nature Trackers” club is born! The kids decide to make their club about getting outside, getting into nature and making new discoveries. The only problem is: which kid is in charge of the club?

· “Shiny and Snakes / Tiny Loves Flowers” Premieres Tuesday, November 15

Shiny gets over her fear of snakes when Tiny challenges the “Nature Trackers” to meet the ultimate snake: the Sanajeh, a huge Cretaceous snake from what is now India. Dad takes the kids on the DINOSAUR TRAIN to find Sana Sanajeh, who may be huge, but turns out to be quite friendly. Once Shiny and Sana become friends, Shiny returns home with the knowledge that snakes aren’t scary – they’re just another part of nature! Tiny is horrified when her favorite buttercups wilt, so Mom takes her and the family to the Big Pond, where she remembers seeing lots of buttercups in bloom. On the way there, the Conductor gives the kids a visual lesson in “Nature’s Life Cycle,” explaining how a flower grows, blossoms, then wilts, and returns its seeds to the ground, to start the cycle all over again. Tiny finds her flowers at the Big Pond, both blooming and wilting, and can see nature’s life cycle in action.

· “Buddy Explores the Tyrannosaurs / Rainy Day Fight” Premieres Wednesday, November 16

Buddy, an adopted T. rex, wishes he knew more about his T. rex ancestors. So, Dad takes him and Tiny on the DINOSAUR TRAIN back to the early Cretaceous, to visit an ancestor: an earlier version of Tyrannosaurus rex called Raptorex. Rodney Raptorex is a kid who won’t grow up to be as big as Buddy will, but the two boys find that they not only have a lot of differences, they have a lot in common, too. The kids are stuck cooped up in the nest for a long, rainy spell which leads to them fighting. Mom tells them that the rain has stopped enough that they can leave the nest but she gives them an assignment: to go find their own “calm space,” where they can calm down enough to get along with each other again. It works – each kid finds something in nature that helps him or her to calm down and be friends again.

· “That's Not a Dinosaur / Tiny's Garden” Premieres Thursday, November 17

The kids visit the Big Pond to attend the Biome Block Party. While attempting to win the leaf-necklace contest, Keenan Chirostemotes claims the Pteranodon siblings can't compete for the prize for "dinosaur" with the most leaves because they are not dinosaurs. This launches the kids into a song called "That's Not a Dinosaur", as all the non-dinosaurs sing their piece. In the end, the game rules are changed to include all creatures, even non-dinosaurs, in all the contests! The “Nature Trackers” go on a visit to the Big Pond, where Tiny hopes to see her favorite flowers. The Conductor tells her that if the kids gather seeds at the pond, they can bring them home and plant a garden full of those same flowers at the family nest! The kids all get into it, gathering seeds and bringing them home, where they plant a garden, and meet its new inhabitants, including Sammy, a friendly slug, who explains that slugs, spiders, and butterflies all help to make a garden complete.

This is a song I have sang to my daughter since the day she was born! The moment she arrived and my eyes met hers, I was completely and hopelessly in love with her. She made me melt. The face of an angel. She has changed so much in 4 years. She's stubborn, opinionated, demanding, passionate, loving, sweet, playful, happy and crazy! I wouldn't change a single thing about her because all of these ingredients make up the best little Princess in the world. I look forward to watching her grow into a strong and ambitious young lady. My kids were extremely excited to test out a new product from one of my most favorite toy manufacturers, Spin Master Toys. Doctor Dreadful Zombies is a Zombie Lab that looks gross, but tastes great! This disgustingly wonderful Zombie Lab comes with everything your little Mad Scientist will need in order to create the most squeamishly yummy experiments.

This Halloween HEXBUG is introducing their limited edition HEXBUG Nano Mutant Zombie bugs as well as two new Glow in the Dark Habitat Sets and the Glow in the Dark Galileo Collection Bugs. We gathered all the kids together and let them get hands on with these creepy critters just in time for Halloween.

The kids had a blast chasing their bugs around the house and trying to keep them in their habitat. When the kids weren't looking I would open one of the little orange gates and the bugs would escape! It was hilarious!

We took a break for all the BUG action to decorate some creepy cupcakes and things got a little out of control! We had dirt (crushed Oreo cookies) and worms all over the place. It was a sprinkle fiasco! They had so much and made some really disgusting looking works of art!

Learning is Always Fun with LeapFrog!

Leap Frog has been making quality educational toys for years and my kids have been big fans. When I found out that I could host a Leap Frog Mommy Party, I jumped at the opportunity. I invited a few friends over and put out some exciting themed treats. We spent the evening testing out a few new products.

The kids started the evening off with the fun activity sheets and coloring pages that were provided in my party kit.

Then it was time for gadgets! First up was the Tag Reading System that included a great Disney sampler book. The kids really liked the fact that the Touch Technology brought the book to life. The Tag Reader really engaged the kids and each one was anxious for their turn to use it. It's perfect for my 1st grader! We also received the Learn to Read Series 1: Short Vowels which included 6 books.

The kids couldn't wait to use the Interactive World Map with the Tag Reader. They had a lot of fun discovering different countries.

Finally, it was time for the show stopper. The product they had all been waiting for. The piece de resistance! The new LeapFrog Explorer Learning Tablet aka the LeapPad. It's a tablet just for kids with a built in camera and video recorder! The learning fun is endless with over 100+ cartridge games and downloadable apps. It is, by far, the coolest gadget I have ever seen for kids. They were literally fighting over this thing! It was very difficult to ask 6 kids to sit patiently and wait for their turn to explore the LeapPad. My kids loved the fact that it was touch screen and included a stylus. I wouldn't wait until December to buy this one...jump on it now and put it away until Christmas! I guarantee these will go insanely fast!

Disney Interactive Media Group's Halloween Bash!

My friends at Disney Interactive Media Group invited us to a Howling Halloween Bash at the Disney Studios in Burbank. When I found out that it was a costume party, there was no doubt about what we were dressing up as...Disney characters, of course!!! The Forte family attended the DIMG Halloween Bash dressed as Francis the masculine ladybug from Bug's Life, Savage Opress from Star Wars Clone Wars, Snow White and the Green Mystic Force Ranger! (Dad was dressed as Dad)

When we arrived we were immediately surrounded by the festive feeling of Halloween. There was so much to do and see that we just had to stop for a moment and take it all in.

First stop was the Tinkerbell and Pixie Hollow cookie decorating station.

Next we were off to make some freakishly fun Halloween crafts and who wouldn't enjoy munching on Halloween candy to get their creative, craft juices flowing?

Now it was time to get our GAME ON! Jackson has been anticipating the release of Disney Universe for over a month now. When he found out that there were going to be Disney Universe gaming stations available, he couldn't contain his excitement. The boy lost his marbles! Disney Universe is a new multiplayer adventure game that allows the player to suit up in 1 of 45 iconic Disney character costumes and battle in legendary Disney and Disney-Pixar worlds.

There were additional gaming stations set up with Cars 2 , Phineas and Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension and LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean. We played them all and had so much fun!

As usual there was a delightful spread of food and desserts. I have been craving a caramel apple for quite some time now and I was dying to sink my teeth into one of these yummy treats!

I was so excited to see that FamilyFun.com has teamed up with one of my most favorite Food Network personalities...Sandra Lee!!! She's the absolute best! I love doing things semi-homemade and now thanks to FamilyFun.com, Sandra Lee can share some of her easiest and most creative Halloween ideas with us!

Then it was time for the costume contest and I have no idea how the DIMG team was able to pick winners because there were so many amazing costumes. All the kids looked awesome and some parents came dressed as their favorite Disney characters as well.

After spending a couple hours doing nothing, but playing Disney Universe...Jackson decided to end the night by relaxing on a fluffy Puffle and learn how to draw the characters from his favorite virtual world, Club Penguin.

We partied the night away and created some great memories. Thank you so much to Dana & Kirsten, my 2 most favorite Disney Darlings in the world!!! I love you gals more than you know! Big hugs to Ashley & Scott for making Dad's night a bit easier by entertaining Mya & Chowdy! Thank you Amy for playing Disney Universe with Jackson ALL NIGHT! We always have such a wonderful time hanging out with all of you and we look forward to seeing you again soon. What would we do without Disney Interactive Media in our lives?!?!?!

If you've played the award winning Kinectimals game for XBOX 360 Kinect, then I'm sure I don't have to tell you how adorable the little feline cubs are in this game. XBOX has just released an extended version of this cuddly game and it's even cuter than before! Our furry friends in Kinectimals want you to meet their new pals...the BEARS!

Yup, that's right, I said BEARS! Not just any bears...the furriest, cuddliest, sweetest little bears you have ever seen! In this version of Kinectimals, you'll find Polar Bears, Panda Bears, Grizzly Bears and a few more.

My daughter, Mya, couldn't possibly be more excited to play this game! This girl loves every single animal on the planet and Kinectimals is the perfect game for her. My son usually hogs up all the consoles in our home with fast-paced action games, but now there is a game tailor made for my little girl to enjoy. She's not a big fan of the game remotes and controllers. Kinect allows her to jump and interact with the animals as if she was actually playing with and petting these wild animals. She actually thinks they are her pets. As soon as she gets home from school, she takes off her backpack and turns on the Kinect.

If you have any little gamers or animal lovers in your home, you must add Kinectimals Now with Bears to their Christmas wish lists! I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's going to be a Gamer's Christmas. Stay tuned for more exciting new games from XBOX 360 Kinect!

A Spooktacular Day at Camp Spooky!

I have never had the pleasure of visiting Knott's Berry Farm during Halloween Time so I jumped at the opportunity to join fellow Mom Bloggers for a frightfully good time at Camp Spooky in Knott's Berry Farm.

The kids were allowed to wear costumes, but it was supposed to be a hot day and I decided to dress the kids in cooler Halloween apparel rather than full blown costumes. We were still festive! As soon as we arrived at Camp Spooky the kids ran over to Snoopy dressed as a Vampire and posed for pictures. My little guy must have hugged him 20 times. Then Mya got in on the action!

We all sat down and enjoyed a live show in the Camp Theater called Peanuts Spooktacular! Charlie (Frankenstein), Lucy (Witch) & Linus (Scarecrow) put on an amazing show filled with singing and dancing to some of our most favorite ghostly tunes. They did the Monster Mash, Thriller and many more. My kids loved the show!

After the show it was time to seek out some treats. The kids were given a sack and a map of all the Trick or Treat stations located throughout Camp Spooky. At each station, the kids received a treat and a check mark on their map. It was like a scavenger hunt and my kids couldn't wait to find the next stop.

We just had to check out The Great Pumpkin Hay Maze and it was, in fact, GREAT!
Then it was time to get on some rides. We spent the remainder of our day riding everything in Camp Spooky as well as throughout the entire park. We actually stayed until the park closed. It was a wonderful day and we will definitely be going back for many more Halloweens to come!!!

Anything's Possible at the Possibility Shop with Courtney Watkins!

This isn't the first time I'm sharing info about Jim Henson's Possibility Shop with Courtney Watkins and it certainly won't be the last time. I adore Courtney and the whimsical way she shares her crafts ideas with children and adults. The Possibility Shop is a wonderful web series on Disney's Family.com that opens a whole new world of possibilities for children through arts and crafts. They have just debuted their 3rd season and there will be 20 new creative "how-to" webisodes filled with inspirational ideas for the entire family to enjoy.
I had the pleasure of attending a special presentation of the Possibility Shop at the Jim Henson Studios. My kids were so excited to spend a day doing crafts with Courtney and hang out with their favorite friends from Disney Interactive Media Group.
We were even more excited when we found out that she was covering one of our favorite webisodes...Episode 5: Slumber Party Camp-In!!! All the fun of camping, but inside the comfort of your own home. The kids sat down and made campfires out of flashlights and had a shadow puppet show!

After the presentation we feasted on good old fashioned camping grub such as mac n cheese, baked beans, sliders, hot dogs and Jackson's favorite...pork ribs! The boy sat down and devoured 14 ribs! Impossible you say? Nothing is impossible at the Possibility Shop! hahahaha!

My kids really loved making S'mores with Golden Grahams cereal, Mini Marshmallows and Chocolate Chips. They each had their own jars and filled them to the top. My Mom was on hand to help with the scooping and sealing of the jars.

Now it was time to work off all that yummy food so the kids ran around the amazing courtyard at the Jim Henson Studios and even got the opportunity to sit down in their screen room and watch a few episodes of Dinosaur Train. My kids really enjoyed themselves. Especially when Bubba came out to play!

La Costa Resort and Spa in Carlsbad!

Oh me, Oh my...I have seen the light and I LOVE IT!!! La Costa Resort and Spa is, hands down, one of the most wonderful, serene, beautiful, relaxing and AWESOME-est places to stay, play & eat...EVER! They have got it all! From the moment we pulled up to the resort and entered the driveway, our jaws dropped and we couldn't wait to see more.

Our rooms were gorgeous! The nicest rooms we've ever stayed in! We had two adjoining rooms, a one bedroom suite with a living room, sofa sleeper, 2 patios and the second room had 2 Queen beds with a 3rd patio. Both bathrooms had huge tubs and separate showers. The colors, patterns, furniture and decor were all so amazing. The kids ran from room to room screaming and laughing with their special gift bags that they received upon check-in. We easily could have locked ourselves in our rooms for the entire stay and had the best quality family time!

After a little bit of relaxing, we changed and headed over to Legends Bistro for dinner. We are always excited to try new places and Legends Bistro impressed us right away. We sat outside overlooking the massive golf course and were able to enjoy the sunset. There was a lovely fire pit and the layout was very spacious and relaxing.

The food was so good! I don't even know where to begin! Fried Calamari, a Trio of Sliders, Steak, you name it...it was all perfect! My kids had Mac-n-Cheese, Burgers & Fish...all of which got devoured!

The staff was just as delightful as the food. From our lovely hostess Hannah to our humble attendant, Hooshmand, the entire dinner experience was effortless. Our waiter, Cem, was AWESOME! He was great with the kids and my parents. Very patient and he made Jackson feel like such a grown up being able to order his dinner the way he wanted it. Cem even brought him his favorite drink loaded with maraschino cherries. He also brought Mya the dessert tray and let her pick exactly what she wanted which is huge for her because she is the Queen of desserts!!! I can go on and on about dinner, but there is still so much to share.

After dinner we took the kids over to Vibz Game Lounge, which is a really cool recreation room designed just for kids, tweens and adults that enjoy a bit of gaming. It was the perfect activity for us after dinner. We played ping pong, billiards, skee ball and so much more. Jackson and Parker hit up the XBOX stations and got lost in the gaming. We had the best evening!

It was such a beautiful night and our surroundings were so breath-taking that my parents just couldn't resist sharing a romantic moonlit dance.

The next morning we had a quick breakfast then headed out to the pool area. La Costa Resort is the sister property to Rancho Las Palmas Resort and also one of many luxury resorts owned by KSL Resorts. It was no surprise to me that the pool area was going to be a jaw-dropping. The Splashtopia at La Costa was so much fun. The layout of the pool area was just perfect. Two crazy water slides that I couldn't pull Jackson away from and 1 toddler water slide that was made for Mya and Parker. My parents were laughing and having just as much fun as my kids were. Papa and Parker fell asleep poolside! It was a great family fun day for all of us.

I couldn't believe it was time to check out and say goodbye to this gorgeous resort. We were all so sad to be leaving. There was not one single thing about our visit that I could complain about. It was delightful from start to end. I want to THANK the warm and professional staff for everything they did to make our stay so pleasant. You truly have a great group of people working for you! We can't wait for next Summer...next time I'm bringing the Great Grand Parents too! We LOVE La Costa Resort!

Talk Like a Pirate Day w/ Jake and the Never Land Pirates!

Yo, ho, ho! Can you think of a better way to celebrate Talk Like a Pirate Day than hosting a Pirate Party with a few of your closest friends? Neither can I!!! Yesterday, my kids and their guests set sail with Jake and the Never Land Pirates on an adventure filled with treasure, treats and toe tapping!
I set up their party table with Jake and the Never Land Pirate puzzles and games. I also put on their favorite episodes of Jake and the Never Land Pirates to keep them entertained while they waited for the festivities to begin.
I served up Pirate Pizza, Cubby's Cantaloupe Cubes, Pirate Cupcakes and of course you can't have a respectable Pirate Party without serving your tiny Buccaneers some good old fashioned Grog! (aka Root Beer Floats!)

We also played a great Pirate Game called Pin the Treasure Chest on the Map! The kids took turns being spun around three times then attempting to get their Treasure Chest on the big red X on the Treasure Map all while blind folded. It was hilarious! Either they ALL cheated or they were ALL really good Pirates because all 6 kids hit the mark!

After everyone had won...we decided to have a Pirate Dance Party and Pirate-oke Contest. The kids went absolutely nuts when 'Hot Lava' by Sharky & Bones came on! It was a mad house! We danced, we sang, we laughed, we had a swashbuckling good time!!! The kids all left with the most wonderful Goody Bags filled with all sorts of Pirate favors and their very own copy of the Jake and the Never Land Pirates Yo Ho, Mateys Away! 2 disc combo pack with a DVD and a CD with 7 great Sharky & Bones songs! The DVD/CD combo pack also includes an official Pirate Eye Patch!

Jake and the Never Land Pirates Yo Ho, Mateys Away! is available in stores on September 27th so make sure to pick up this combo pack for your little buccaneer too. Happy sailing!!!

OF ITS FIRST CULTURAL FESTIVAL

Aquarium’s Baja Splash Cultural Festival celebrates National Hispanic Heritage Month and will feature special appearances, giveaways, and a parade in celebration of its 10th year
Experience cultural traditions from Latin America through dance, music, art, and cuisine while enjoying special bilingual environmental programs on Sept. 24 & 25

Explore Latin American cultures while learning about the ocean at the Aquarium of the Pacific. In celebration of National Hispanic Heritage Month, the Aquarium hosts its 10th annual Baja Splash Cultural Festival on the weekend of Sept. 24-25, 2011 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. In commemoration of the 10th anniversary of its first cultural festival, the Aquarium will feature a Saturday parade, 10 daily prize giveaways, and free admission to anyone born on the 10th of any month (with valid I.D. or birth certificate). This event will feature traditional dance, crafts, live music, face painting, interactive music programs, ethnic food, booths, and bilingual environmental educational programs.

Visitors can witness ancient Aztec drumming and dance, mariachi music, and folk dances from Mexico , Guatemala , El Salvador , Panama , Cuba , Dominican Republic , and beyond. Groups will perform in front of the Blue Cavern—home to sharks, rays, and sea bass. The Aquarium’s Marine Life Theater will feature interactive music from Central and South America . Free face painting, children’s crafts, and ocean mural painting are part of the festivities. Guests will be able to meet TV anchors and other personalities from the Spanish network Telemundo. Ten minutes after every hour, the Museum of Latin American Art will give away free museum tickets at its festival booth. Ethnic cuisine will be available for purchase, and cultural wares will be for sale.

Baja Splash will highlight Mexico ’s Gulf of California , which is one of the most important wildlife havens in the world. Through the Aquarium’s bilingual film and Gulf of California exhibition, visitors will be able to learn about this important ecosystem, the threats facing it, and how they can help. Another way to learn more about the Gulf is through special bilingual presentations and films in the Aquarium’s Honda Theater. During the festival, the Aquarium will bestow its annual Hispanic Heritage Award to World Wildlife Fund Mexico for their work in helping the people and wildlife of Baja.
Since September 24 is also climate action day, the Aquarium will feature a new bilingual interactive climate game. Guests will be able to spin the wheel to learn about penguins, polar bears, and turtles. They will see how everyday choices can help tackle climate change. The Aquarium will also show its bilingual film called Poles in Peril for free in the Honda Theater. Sponsors are at&t and Telemundo 52.

Disneyland Adventures for Kinect!

The geniuses at Microsoft & XBOX are gearing up to release a new video game for Kinect that is sure to be a hit! The video game is called Kinect: Disneyland Adventures and it will easily be one of the hottest and MUST HAVE games of this Holiday Season. I had the opportunity of a lifetime and attended a private tour of Disneyland to see, first hand, where the inspiration for this game came from!

Disneyland Adventures is literally a virtual walk through the Happiest Place on Earth...Disneyland! Players will be able to meet up with some of their favorite characters and step into adventures based on actual attractions in the theme park. You can meet Disney characters and interact with them by giving them hugs, waving hello and getting their autographs or you can travel to their lands to explore, battle and conquer. Here are just a few screen shots to give you an idea of what this game is about: I can't giveaway too much info, but I will keep you posted with little tidbits here and there and possible cheats along the way!

D23: Disney's Ultimate Fan Expo!

For those of you that have been hearing about D23, but don't know what it is or aren't sure what it entailed, the D23 Expo is a weekend filled with every aspect of Disney that exists and it's all under one roof. To the die hard Disney Fan, it's a dream come true event! The expo allows you to get up close and personal with some of your favorite Disney things.

I had the pleasure of attending the D23 Expo at the Anaheim Convention Center and I was in awe from the moment I walked in. It's Disney mania! Here's a list of all the booths I came across:

Children, families and Disney fans of all ages were delighted when “Kinect: Disneyland® Adventures” was revealed at E3 2011. Today, XBOX 360 and Disney Interactive Studios are excited to announce that the magic of “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” will be available in North America on Nov. 15, 2011.
XBOX 360 offers another glimpse of the iconic adventures included in “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures,” revealing new gameplay experiences at the D23 Expo this weekend! Gamers will visit the Swiss Alps and encounter the Abominable Snowman on the Matterhorn Bobsleds. They will see and hear macaws, toucans, orchids and totem poles singing in the Enchanted Tiki Room. They will join a skipper on a wild adventure to see zebras, hippos and gorillas on the Jungle Cruise as well as navigate the waters of the bayou in new chapters of Pirates of the Caribbean.

As fans venture through “Kinect: Disneyland Adventures” they will also enjoy songs from popular Disney attractions including “The Tiki Tiki Tiki Room” and “Yo Ho (A Pirate’s Life For Me)".

Skirball's Summer Shows!

Skirball Cultural Center has been offering Family Amphitheater Performances on Saturdays and Sundays since early July and will run through September 4th. These wonderful shows are included in the price of admission and no reservations are necessary.

We took our kids to watch the mind-blowing magic of Lou Serrano and my kids had a blast! He pulled off some great tricks and the audience participation was exciting and humorous.

Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D

The much anticipated release of the fourth Spy Kids film is finally here! Spy Kids: All the Time in the World will be in theaters August 19th and my kids are so excited to see it. The movie will be in 4D and stars Jessica Alba as Marissa Cortez Wilson, a retired Spy turned Mom and Step Mom "reactivated" and ready for duty!

I had the pleasure of joining a group of Mom Bloggers on a conference call with Jessica Alba and I couldn't wait to ask her about the movie. This will be my family's first 4D movie experience and I wanted to know her take on it. Below is an audio of the interview:

I have been waiting for this store to open! The new Super Dollar is located at 7029 Topanga Cyn Blvd. between Sherman Way & Vanowen in the Arby's and Brakemasters shopping center. They carry just about EVERYTHING you could possibly need and the best part is that they offer a lot of name brand products. Yes, I said it! Name Brands!!! Just check out these photos I took the night before the much anticipated opening:This wonderful store carries party supplies, kitchen utensils, toys, school supplies, crafts, household products, groceries, auto supplies, cleaning supplies and so much more. Super Dollar is very spacious, organized and clean. I am looking forward to stimulating our economy one purchase at a time in this awesome discount store! Who's with me?

Rancho Las Palmas Resort and Spa-tacular!

I'm sure that most of you are fully aware of the Awesomeness that is Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa, but there are still so many families that have no idea where it is and what it has to offer. Let me take you through our visit and share with you all the fabulous Family Fun we had at this amazing Resort. The property layout is Villa Style, which is my absolute favorite. Once you are checked in, you get back in your car and drive right up to your room. I love that! The rooms are so spacious and comfortable. We had two connecting rooms so the kids could enjoy having their own personal space and this makes Dad very happy because it's hard to share a bathroom with your Wife and 3 kids! Our rooms were on the ground floor with french doors that opened to our patios facing the pool. The easy access to the pool was a huge plus with 3 kids. The kids immediately got suited up for Splashtopia!

Splashtopia is literally a Summer Playground for all ages. Your family will never want to leave this place! My kids didn't even ask for snacks or drinks which is crazy because they are ALWAYS hungry! Splashtopia has a real sandy beach with plenty of beach toys for all of their younger visitors to play with. The beach leads down into a shallow pool then into the lazy river. The lazy river surrounds a large Splash Pad area and their 2 Water Slides. I was so excited to find out that my 3yr. old daughter was tall enough to take on the slides! She spent most of her time alternating between the 2 slides. There's also a large family pool that stays open until 10:pm. There are numerous cabanas for rent, plenty of complimentary poolside water and ice as well as a great spot to stop for lunch called the Splash Grill.

If you don't want to stop playing at Splashtopia long enough to eat, you can always wait until dinner time and order room service and a movie! The property also has a really nice restaurant called bluEmber that offers more of a mature atmosphere and directly across from bluEmber is the Palms Cafe. We loved the Palms Cafe. They serve Starbucks coffee!!! Need I say more? They also offer a wide variety of breakfast options, great lunch menu with brick-oven pizzas and light dinner fare.The property grounds are lovely. After our stop at the Palms Cafe we decided to take a little walk around the property and the kids really enjoyed themselves. Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is one of those Family Destinations where you'll never have a need to leave the property during your stay, but if you just want to get a little night time fun into your trip then you're in luck. The River is a great place for shopping and entertainment with a park-like waterfront and it's located directly across the street from Rancho Las Palmas' entrance!

Every single member of the Rancho Las Palmas staff was wonderful. We felt as if we were staying with family! I have to give a HUGE THANK YOU to Brenda Manley for welcoming us and making us feel at home. I also have to Thank Melissa Paden for chatting with me during my stay and making sure we were always happy. You gals are amazing and I can't wait to come back next Summer and next time we definitely need to meet at the Palms Cafe for coffee & treats!
