We took the kids over to Discovery Cube LA to explore The Science of Gingerbread exhibit and they were so excited and surprised to be greeted by none other than Santa Claus himself!
The Science of Gingerbread exhibit is filled with hands-on activities that are just perfect for kids of any age. We started off by playing in the Gingerbread Playground! Armed with chalk in many colors, they took to the chalk wall and the gingerbread house itself to draw, write and doodle.
We were most excited to participate in the Annual Gingerbread Derby. While we waited for our turn to experience the Derby, we had fun with all of the other activities within The Science of Gingerbread exhibit like Build a House Learning Station, Kitchen Chemistry Learning Station and much more.
After much anticipation it was time for the Derby!
The Annual Gingerbread Derby is both educational and fun! The kids visit 3 different stations from start to finish. Each station offers a different phase of this hands-on, creative exhibit. Each participant will select parts to build their own race car that they will use to compete in the Derby.
We could've stayed right there and raced our gingerbread cars until there was nothing left, but crumbs!
Before we left we just had to check out all of the amazing gingerbread entries for the Annual Gingerbread Competition. This is definitely a favorite holiday tradition. Not only do you have a chance at some great prizes, but you will also receive an invitation to the exclusive Gingerbread Awards Ceremony!
Be sure to visit Discovery Cube Los Angeles anytime from now until January 3rd, 2016 to enjoy this festive exhibit.
