With the Summer slowly coming to an end and my kids getting ready to return to school, we decided to spend an entire day exploring Discovery Cube LA and the neighboring Hansen Dam activities.
First up, all of the amazing exhibits at Discovery Cube LA! As soon as we arrived the kids ran straight for the Santa Ana Winds exhibit to cool off while enduring winds clocked in at over 70 mph.
Parker can't get enough of the Animal Grossology exhibit located upstairs and since it's only here in LA until September 7th, we just had to revisit his favorite area of the museum. The Grossology Zoo is loaded with fun little factoids and a interactive penguin that likes to discuss dookie.

It was time to take our party outside and cool off in the water at the Hansen Dam Aquatics Center. The kids couldn't wait! We have heard so many great things about the swimming lake from our friends and we were so excited to finally check it out for ourselves.
The Hansen Dam Aquatic Center offers a huge 1.5 acre swimming lake with 50 public restrooms, 20 dressing rooms, 25 showers and several picnic areas. That's not all! The swimming lake also has 2 awesome water slides for families to enjoy. Don't forget to bring your beach toys because the entire swimming lake is surrounded by sand.
