My family and I attended the
L.A. County Fair Food Media Preview two days prior to the fair opening to the public. Everything looked and smelled amazing. We were given a post card with 8 vendors that are here during the L.A. County Fair that runs from August 30th-September 29th. Each vendor offers something different and you will definitely find a favorite among them.
We started off our day with Smoothies from Cornucopia Café to cool us down since it was 100 degrees out. Here you can quench your thirst with gourmet Expressos, Iced Coffees and Fresh Smoothies. They also serve beer and wine. Cornucopia Café also sells Pretzels, Popcorn and Churros. My kids enjoyed their Smoothies and Churros. Gluten-free food has arrived at the Fair with crisp, healthy Tasti Chips. We tried the Chipotle BBQ Beef "Dirty" Chips all I can say is Wow! They were so good and cooked to perfection. No oily runny greasy chips here. They use fresh Cali grown potatoes and 100% pure allergen free peanut oil. My daughter wanted seconds and she had just the basic chips. Check them out, you will not be disappointed.
We moved on over to Fresh Frys and tried their Amazing Blooming Onion with ranch dressing. My husband was in heaven! Here you can choose freshly baked french fries with a variety of dips and sauces for a tasty vegetarian treat.

Texas Style BBQ was our favorite of
the night! We had a BBQ Brisket sandwich and the best Brisket Sundae
EVER! Yes, I said Brisket Sundae! It's made with delicious BBQ beef brisket resting on fluffy mashed potatoes and topped with a cherry tomato.
The kids gobbled this up fast! I was so happy to see them enjoy this sundae.
Chicken Charlie's is a famous treat at
County Fairs across California. Home of
creative culinary concoctions and all things deep-fried. If you are looking to
enjoy a little deep-fried afternoon this is the place. Be the first to try the
Krispy Kreme Hamburger complete with two doughnuts, two patties and two slices of cheese! An
exclusive here at the L.A County Fair. Indulge in deep-fried favorites with an
all-new menu featuring Krispy Kreme Sloppy Joes, totally fried Bacon Wrapped
Pickles, Waffle Dogs and classics like deep-fried Oreos, Twinkies and Frog
Legs. I'm sad to say I did not try
any of the fried delicacies, but we did try the Chicken Kabobs and they were
delish. 10-pound Buns is serving seven delicious
mixtures of cheese, onions, garlic and more slathered onto a large, freshly
baked slice of their World Famous Sourdough. We tried the pepperoni and meat
lovers and it was so tasty.
Harold & Belle's to Geaux serves up New Orleans cuisine with style. I am allergic to Seafood, so husband and daughter stopped to try their Catfish. My daughter is 6 years old and she said the catfish was "Yummy!" and stamped it with her seal of approval! Another kid approved stop was Monster
Dogs where you can enjoy Fair classics like larger than life corn dogs fried to
a crispy golden brown, hamburgers and fries. My last stop was at the Skinnygirl
Bar which serves delicious cocktails. Skinnygirl drinks are low calorie
so this mama really enjoyed them. I had a Margarita and it was
great! This is the place to stop on these hot Summer days and you don't have to worry about the calories. I will definitely be back here next week!
Thank You to the L.A. County Fair for such a
fun and tasty event. Thanks to Jasmine for letting me get out of making dinner! We enjoyed all the Food, Fair, Fun!
