This year has been flying by and Summer seemed shorter than ever with our local schools resuming in August instead of the usual September dates. We decided to have one last family staycation to mark the end of Summer and welcome Fall here in Southern California. We found ourselves at the Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach. I couldn't think of a better way to say goodbye to the Summer than staying at a beachfront property. I expected to see an amazing view, but had no idea just how breathtaking the location of the Pacific Edge Hotel would be.
Our room was filled with warm colors and patterns that were just perfect for a beachfront resort. The kids loved it and couldn't wait to unpack and hit the beach. We had a full kitchen and a private balcony.
We arrived at sunset so needless to say, the view from our balcony was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't stop taking pictures.
We spent most of the evening walking around the property and discovered a fun game room located next to the pool and jacuzzi. The game room offered ping pong, Foosball, a flat screen television and arcade games. The pool is heated and open late everyday.
The next morning we enjoyed breakfast at The Beach House. The Beach House is the former home of an Old Hollywood actor. The home was built in the 1920's and much of it's original woodwork and fixtures remain today. The Beach House offers oceanfront dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
We had the best seats in the house! It's not everyday these kids get to enjoy their breakfast on a beachfront balcony overlooking the ocean. The kids had a variety of their favorites such as eggs, bacon, pancakes and fresh fruit. My oldest had to have the steak and eggs. My husband ordered the Filet Mignon Benedict which were Beef tenderloin medallions, poached eggs, toasted brioche crostinis and truffled hollandaise. They looked delicious! I ordered the Granola Crusted French Toast and I ate every last bite!
After breakfast we decided to play on the beach before checking out. We loved the fact that the beach wasn't crowded. It felt as if we had the entire ocean to ourselves. A very nice little girl gave my son one of her boogie boards to keep! It was his first time boogie boarding and it definitely won't be his last!
We had such a wonderful visit and so many great memories were made. The Pacific Edge Hotel in Laguna Beach is one of those destinations that truly make you feel as if your family has traveled far away from home. Yet, it was only a 45 minute drive from the San Fernando Valley. We look forward to visiting this family friendly property again soon!
Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was offered accommodations in order to facilitate my review. These are just my two cents!
We have always wanted to check this place out. Your pictures sold me on booking a trip!
