DISNEY STORE DONATES 25,000 SCHOOL SUPPLY KITS TO BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS OF AMERICA

Disney Store, will donate 25,000 school supply kits (retail value of $14.50 each), to children at Boys & Girls Clubs of America (BGCA) this week, in partnership with the Walt Disney Company. Full of essential supplies, the supply kits feature either a Disney Princess theme for girls or Cars theme for boys and include a folder, notebook, pencil case, three pencils, ruler, eraser, sharpener, glue stick and a pair of scissors. To celebrate back-to-school, Disney Store donations will occur directly through Disney Store locations across the country, straight to their local BGCA chapter. Through this donation, Disney Store hopes to add a little magic to the back-to-school experience as kids prepare to return to classroom nationwide this fall.

“Disney Store is proud to support Boys & Girls Clubs of America and admires the work the organization does to enhance the development of children across the nation,” said Paul Gainer, executive vice president of Disney Store. “Through our donation, we hope to support children in our local communities by providing them with learning essentials for the upcoming school year.”

With the hottest styles of backpacks and lunch totes, supply kits and apparel, Disney Store is a one-stop shop for back-to-school gear. Girls will love the classic Disney Princess styles, new Brave backpacks featuring Merida and other adorable styles available for 2012. Boys will be ready for action sporting a Where’s My Water?, Spider-Man or Cars backpack.

Disney Store’s school supply kit donation is made in collaboration with Disney Friends for Change, an initiative that inspires kids and their families to make a lasting, positive change by helping people, communities, and the planet. Disney has a long history with BGCA that spans more than 50 years. Through financial and in-kind contributions, and through the time and talent of its Disney VoluntEARS, Disney supports the BGCA’s mission of helping young people reach their full potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens.
