Back to School with Gutzy Gear!

Last week I sent two of my kids off to school! My oldest started 2nd grade and my daughter started Kindergarten! To celebrate the successful completion of their first week back to school, I hosted a Gutzy Gear Party here at home with their cousins that also started school last week. Gutzy Gear is a new fun way to personalize your child's backpack with strap covers and patches. Each patch is Velcro which makes trading and switching out designs super easy. There are 56 Gutzies in a series and new Gutzies constantly being introduced, so you can collect and trade a world of Gutzies.

I had all the kids bring their backpacks to the party so they could sit down and personalize their Gutzy straps however they wanted. The kids had a blast. There are so many patches to choose from and I was able to find a few familiar faces at ToysRUs. The kids were so excited to see Monster High, Spongebob, Spiderman and Marvel patches! Even my youngest, who is still at home with me, pulled out his backpack and got Gutzy!

Once they were all done getting their backpacks Guztyfied, the kids sat down for a few rounds of Gutzy Bingo! They really thought it was hilarious because the call signs were patches not numbers so we had to say things like "freaky skull with purple baseball cap!" or "monkey with the shades on!".

No party is complete without cupcakes and today's sweet treats were Gutzy Gear Cupcakes!

The party was a success and the kids couldn't wait for Monday so they could take their awesome backpacks to school. I can't wait to hear what their classmate's reactions to their Gutzy Gear was! I may have to get some for my son's 2nd grade class!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was offered sample products in order to host an event and facilitate my review. These are just my two cents!

  1. Thanks for having us the kids had a blast. Just to let you know each day they tell me another kid comments about how cool their backpack looks. Very creative idea, they are already asking to purchase more from the store.
