A Quick 4th of July Craft!

We found this great project idea on FamilyFun.com so today the kids sat down, with my help, and made these Star-Spangled Wands for tomorrow's 4th of July festivities. They were quick, easy and my kids can't wait to show our neighbors.

All you need is:

Red, white & blue felt (you can also use foam sheets or construction paper)
Star shaped stencils in 3 progressive sizes
Dowels (we used skewers)
Ribbon
Scissors & Glue

I traced the star shapes and cut them out for the kids. They glued the star shapes together from largest to smallest in a red, white and blue pattern. Then we glued the stars to our skewers and let them dry. Once they dried we tied the ribbon to the skewers just under the stars and they were ready to wave their Star-Spangled Wands around in celebration of our Independence Day!
Happy 4th of July!
