Almost everyday is a hot day in the San Fernando Valley so I looked in my fridge and decided to have the kids make a cool treat for themselves. Quick and easy yogurt pops are a great way to beat the heat on Summer days.
All you need is:
12oz. yogurt (any flavor of your choice)
1/2 cup of fruit (any fruit that will work with your yogurt choice)
1 tablespoon honey
6 or 7 small 3oz. bathroom cups (the ones you use to rinse with after you brush your teeth)
popsicle sticks
aluminum foil
My kids used peach Yoplait yogurt and nectarines. Put everything into the blender for a few seconds until the fruit blends with the yogurt. Pour mixture into the small cups about 3/4 full. Cover cups with foil. Then gently pierce foil with popsicle sticks. Place in freezer for about 4 hours. When you're ready to enjoy them, just use a pair of scissors to cut the cups and peel them off of the yogurt pops.
Result: Happy kids cooling off with a healthy snack!
This is such a super cute and easy recipe! I'm going to actually do this one!! Thank you pookiebum!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I could even actually use healthy Greek yogurt. I'm desperately trying to find a way to cut down on sugar intake.
