Fantasy Springs...It Happens Here!

I told my husband that we were going to Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio for the weekend and as usual, he looked at me with one eyebrow raised and asked, "What are we going to do in Indio?"...this is exactly why I do all the planning for trips!
Fantasy Springs Resort is right off the 10 freeway in Indio, CA. Just about 10 minutes outside of Palm Springs. Normally, before I go anywhere I like to map out a list of places to see and things to do. Especially when it comes to food. I need to know what restaurants are available in the city that I am visiting. Amazingly for this trip, I didn't have to do any of that. I packed our bags and we headed out.
The hotel offers a great variety of activities as well as dining options from casual to formal. We didn't need to leave the property for anything. The kids were excited when they found out that they were getting their own room. This was the first time that we had two adjoining rooms. The space was much needed. We usually cram all five of us into one room with two Queen beds. We had an amazing view of the pool from our rooms. The kids ran back and forth from one room to the other. So much for peace and quiet in our room! What was I thinking?
After relaxing in our room for a bit we decided to head downstairs for dinner. We dined at POM restaurant which is a casual restaurant located downstairs from the hotel lobby. POM offers a great menu that's sure to satisfy even the picky eater. Pasta, Chicken, Steak, Seafood and so much more. My kids loved everything they ordered. The staff was amazing! So friendly and attentive. We never had to ask for anything twice. Our server, Karen, made us feel as if we were having dinner with her family in her home. She was great with the kids. Even when they started getting sleepy and acting up. Her assistant, Matthew, was just as great. He made sure we had everything we needed. It was a fabulous dinner.
The next morning we had Brunch at the Fresh Grill Buffet. It's located at the entrance of the Casino floor. One of my most favorite things in the world is Buffet! When you put Buffet & Brunch together...you can't go wrong. This Brunch had everything I imagined it would. There was an omelet station, a wide selection of breakfast favorites, a full salad bar with fresh fruits, Chinese food, pizza, seafood and of course a carving station that Jackson was glued to. The server that was carving up the meats kept asking my son if he was sure he wanted more. That boy can put away some meat! No Brunch is complete without a dessert wonderland. There were so many different desserts to choose from. I didn't know where to start, but I knew I had to try them all. The chocolate fountain is a big hit with the Forte family and they had one. The staff was once again, top notch. Our server, Gina, was very nice and patient. Every time my kids did something crazy she just laughed and assured me that they were fine. What an Angel!

After Brunch we headed over to Fantasy Lanes for some bowling and arcade games. It was a very nice bowling alley. They had a great little sit down snack shop. We had a blast listening to music, laughing and just being silly.

Jackson & Mya did a great job bowling. Mya actually won!

The kids played a few arcade games and then it was time to head back to our room and get ready for the pool.

The pool area at Fantasy Springs is the perfect place for family fun in the sun. There is a children's wading pool with a fountain directly in the middle that my toddler couldn't get enough of. They have a jacuzzi, a pool bar that's open during the day and a large grass area that's great for picnics by the pool or for the kids to run around and play. The pool itself is wonderful. No more than four feet deep with a beach-style entrance on one end and step down stairs on the other. We met a lot of great families at the pool.

For dinner we took the kids to Lique. Located downstairs on the Casino floor right next to the entrance of Fantasy Lanes. It's a classic Ice Cream parlor with diner style seating. Lique has an amazing selection of sundaes as well as shakes, malts and floats. At least a dozen different flavors of ice cream with all of my favorite toppings. It was so hard to make a decision. I wanted to try some of every flavor. Now, I'm sure you're probably thinking that I fed my kids ice cream for dinner...C'mon! I only do that on holidays! Lique also offers a hot food menu and a late night menu. We ordered just about everything they had. The tacos were the best I've ever had...hands down! The nachos were perfect and everything else we ordered was just delightful. I only wish I had room to try the jalapeno corn dog and the chili-cheese fries. Darn my stomach! Needless to say, the staff was awesome. Korie and Amber Rocked! They were both so cheerful and charming. They made sure my kids had everything they needed even if it was a ridiculous request of no ice cream...just gummi bears! Jackson told me he wants to eat there everyday. If only we could.

Finally it was time to check out and have our final meal at the resort. We chose POM for breakfast because it was where we had our first meal. The breakfast menu, just like their dinner menu, had something for everyone. I loved the Belgium waffle topped with fresh strawberries and whipped cream. My husband had a hearty omelet and the kids had hot chocolate with eggs, bacon, oatmeal & fresh fruit. Our server, Aurora, helped us end the weekend on a splendiferous note. YES...I said Splendiferous! It's my review!

Fantasy Springs Resort was an amazing destination for Family Fun. I still can't believe we didn't leave the property for two days. My husband and I have decided to go back and explore the couples side of Fantasy Springs. They offer fine dining, evening entertainment, concerts, gaming and in room massages...HELLO!
The Forte family would like to give a BIG THANK YOU to Ciara Coyle and everyone else that helped make our stay one that we will NEVER forget! We love you all!
