Wednesday, July 14: MADAGASCAR (2005) PG
At New York’s Central Park Zoo, a lion, a zebra, a giraffe, and a hippo are best friends and stars of the show. But when one goes missing from their cage, the other three break free to look for him, only to find themselves reunited ... on a boat to Africa. Having been raised in captivity, the animals must learn first-hand what wild life is like. Stars Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, David Schwimmer, Jada Pinkett Smith, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

Wednesday, July 21: ICE AGE (2002) PG
The Earth is being overrun by glaciers and animals are scurrying to save themselves from the upcoming Ice Age. A bickering sloth (John Leguizamo) and wooly mammoth (Ray Romano) find a lost human infant and decide to try to return him to his tribe. They face adventures, such as being stalked by a vicious saber-toothed tiger (Denis Leary). Nominated for Best Animated Feature Oscar.

Wednesday, July 28: NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM (2006) PG
A newly recruited night security guard (Ben Stiller) at the Museum of Natural History discovers that an ancient curse causes the animals and exhibits on display to come to life and wreak havoc. Three “retired” guards (Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, and Bill Cobbs) break into the museum to steal a magic stone, just adding to the confusion. Robin Williams is Teddy Roosevelt, Owen Wilson is a tiny cowboy.

Wednesday, August 11: ICE AGE 3 “DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS” (2009) PG
Life has changed for the “Ice Age” friends. Mammoths Manny (Ray Romano) and Ellie (Queen Latifah) are expecting a baby. Saber-toothed tiger Diego (Denis Leary) thinks he’s become too laid-back. Wishing for his own family, Sid (John Leguizamo), a sloth, steals a dinosaur egg and ends up in a strange underground world and his friends must rescue him, joined by a one-eyed, pirate wannabe weasel (Simon Pegg).
Includes animal featurette filmed at Santa Barbara Zoo.

Wednesday, August 18: FANTASTIC MR. FOX (2009) PG
An urbane fox becomes a dad, but can’t resist returning to his farm raiding ways for one last caper. When the farmers retaliate, he must help his fellow foxes survive in underground tunnels and defeat the farmers’ attacks. Based on a Roald Dahl story, filmed in stop-motion animation, and nominated for two Oscars. Stars George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Bill Murray, and Owen Wilson.

The Santa Barbara Zoo is open daily from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; general admission is $12 for adults, $10 for children 2-12 and seniors 60+, and children under 2 are free. Parking is $5.
