Fandango Family: Celebrate PIXELS the Movie with a Pac-Man Party!

As a huge gaming fan I have grown up playing all of the classics like Galaga, Q-bert, Frogger, Centipede, Donkey Kong, Tron and Pac-Man. I shared my love for gaming with my children at an early age and now we enjoy playing videogames as a family. Needless to say, when word got out about Sony Pictures' new film starring Adam Sandler called PIXELS, I began counting the days until it's big release. We are so excited to see PIXELS in theaters this Friday, July 24th. Of course, we just had to have our very own Pac-Man party to get our friends just as excited as we are!

A Pac-Man Party is super easy and a lot of fun to host. We served a Pac-Pizza, Pac-Punch, Pac-Pucks and Power Pellets. I simply ordered a large cheese pizza and removed enough slices to make it appear as if Pac-Man was mid-chomp. The kids thought it was so awesome!

My Pac-Punch was a bubbly combination of Ginger ale and Orange Sherbet. It looks gross, but it tastes great and it was a big hit with the kids!

The kids really enjoyed their Pac-Pucks for dessert, which are just Ding Dongs with an image of Pac-Man from PIXELS glued on top. It doesn't get any easier than that!

No Pac-Man Party would be complete without Power Pellets! We had Yellow, Blue & Pink power pellets to help our Pac-Buddies defeat the ghosts.

After all that eating, it was time to get downstairs and really start our Pac-Man Party! The kids couldn't wait to get on the sticks and start chomping on ghosts. We played Pac-Man Party on the Nintendo Wii for the rest of the day!

Get ready to play for the planet when Sony Pictures PIXELS hits theaters this Friday!

Movie Spotlight: Paper Towns!

Coming to theaters this month is another great film adapted from the bestselling novel by author John Green. PAPER TOWNS is a coming-of-age story centering on Quentin and his enigmatic neighbor Margo, who loved mysteries so much she became one. After taking him on an all-night adventure through their hometown, Margo suddenly disappears--leaving behind cryptic clues for Quentin to decipher. The search leads Quentin and his quick-witted friends on an exhilarating adventure that is equal parts hilarious and moving. Ultimately, to track down Margo, Quentin must find a deeper understanding of true friendship--and true love. John Green is also the author behind The Fault in Our Stars.

American Girl: Grace Stirs Up Success & Giveaway!

This Summer has been off to a great start! I am so excited to share that on June 23rd, American Girl and Universal Studios Home Entertainment have released a new movie on Blu-ray and DVD. The American Girl movie is called Grace Stirs Up Success and tells the story of American Girl’s 2015 Girl of the Year Grace Thomas, an avid baker with an entrepreneurial spirit who is motivated to follow her dream of starting a baking business after an inspiring trip to Paris. When Grace begins her French baking business with her two best friends, they combine their talents and discover many sweet rewards!

I also want to share news of an exciting partnership with Williams-Sonoma that includes American Girl-branded baking sets, utensils, food mixes, and a cook book. These items are perfect for girls to explore the kitchen and bake alongside friends and family. All of the mentioned items will be available this Fall at Williams-Sonoma and American Girl stores, as well as online.

Mya couldn't wait to use her American Girl cookie cutter in the shape of the Eiffel Tower. She loves all things Paris and really enjoyed watching Grace Stirs up Success over and over again. We baked chocolate chip cookies and sat down to watch the movie for the 10th time!

Happy Stacking at STACKED!

Burgers have just reached an all new level at STACKED! I recently took my family out to STACKED in Thousand Oaks to see what all the excitement was about and I am so glad that I did. This place is awesome!

Our server, Mary, was great! She showed us how to order our meal on the iPad and how to send our drinks and appetizer orders to the kitchen first while we were still deciding on our entrees. This is such a great feature! Especially, when you have starving and restless kids at the table.

My kids were so excited to be able to order and customize their food with the iPad at our table. They are picky eaters like most kids are. They also rarely agree to eat at the same place because they each want something completely different to eat. STACKED actually had everything they liked and made it exactly the way they wanted it. This is a dream come true! My husband and I were able to have a nice conversation while the kids were ordering their meals.

Everything arrived at the table exactly the way we ordered it! Mya was so excited to see the salad that she "designed" and she couldn't wait to dig in. Parker was so impressed by his kid's meal that he gave it a "thumbs up".

Our burgers were stacked to perfection! I ordered the Cheesebuger Bytes and they were so delicious. Three mini burgers on brioche buns with all of the dressings on the side so I could enjoy stacking it my way. I even added bacon!

When we saw a Toasted Marshmallow milkshake on the menu we just HAD to order it! I remember seeing a Toasted Marshmallow milkshake on a series that aired on the Food Network channel, but have never been able to find one anywhere local to try. It was just as yummy as it sounds and Mya loved it!

STACKED offers a really great service for hungry customers that have to wait for a table. They have 2 iPads located in the waiting area which allows customers to order their entire meal before their table is even ready. The order gets sent to the kitchen and will be ready and served to you just as soon as you are seated. HOW AWESOME IS THAT?!?! This is just perfect for parents waiting with hungry kids.

We had such a wonderful time at the Thousand Oaks STACKED. They have a fantastic staff, great location and amazing food. My kids are already asking me when we will go back for more stacking. Thank you so much to Managers, Lindsay and Josh, for welcoming us and making us feel at home. Thanks to our server, Mary, for being so great with our kids and making their first STACKED visit so fun and a BIG Thank You to Bar Manager, Steve, for hanging out with us and sharing some good laughs. We'll see you real soon!

Disclosure: I was not compensated for this post. I was invited to sample the new STACKED location in Thousand Oaks in order to facilitate my review. These are just my two cents!

Animals of Summer on Nat Geo WILD!

This Summer, Nat Geo WILD has an awesome line-up of programming called Destination Wild that will premiere on Sunday, July 12th and continue to air new specials EVERY Sunday Night for 12 weeks. Nat Geo WILD is currently the only network that dedicates one night every week to wildlife programming. Destination Wild has something for the entire family to enjoy this Summer. The series kicks off with the Real Angry Birds on July 12th and ends with Land of 10,000 Grizzlies on September 27th.

The Real Angry Birds is inspired by the popular game and No. 1 book. Angry Birds is a fun, addictive game, but the Real Angry Birds are not so fun. See what happens when they get their feathers ruffled and stop being polite. For the aviary set, every day is a battle to survive. They must find food and shelter to stay out of harm's way. Be sure to tune in on July 12th for a bird's-eye view of our feathered friend's fights, singing battles and dance-offs!
